Storage & Handling

Foamalux Colour sheets are best stored indoors under ambient warehouse conditions up to 20°C, away from direct sunlight, in a cool dry store. Do not store indoors close to heat sources, for example, radiant heaters or boilers. Standing sheets on ends or sides should be avoided. Store flat on an even, level surface, supported at all points. Pallets should be stacked no more than three high.

Service Temperature

Foamalux Colour can be installed in a diversity of applications, with varying temperatures. The material’s mechanical performance is known to remain stable in prolonged service in temperatures ranging from –20 to +60°C.

Installation

Applications of Foamalux Colour must make adequate allowance for thermal movement. Adequate clearance must be allowed if holes are drilled for fixing and in rebates of support frames.

Static

Rinsing the surface with water or antistatic cleaning agent can reduce static charge. Another method is to blow down the sheet with ionised air. The effect of this treatment is short term but usually sufficient for subsequent operations.

Cleaning

Lukewarm water, ordinary non-abrasive household detergent and a sponge or soft cloth is normally sufficient, however for degreasing and cleaning prior to secondary operations ethanol and isopropanol are suitable solvents. The cleaning process should then be repeated after using solvents and the sheet well rinsed.

Printing

The sheet’s protective film should remain on until just before print. Only a static brush or ionisation is therefore required to remove static build up and ensure a quality print.

Fire Performance

The fire performance of Foamalux has been independently tested. Class 1 fire rating (BS 476 Part 7) and Class C fire rating (EN 13501-1).
