Crane’s Crest is one of the finest stationery papers you can find. Stephen Crane’s
eponymous paper mill opened in Massachusetts in 1770 and his 100% cotton paper
quickly became the first choice of the upper echelons of Boston society. Supplies of
the paper made their way across the Atlantic and by the mid 1800’s, pigeon post in
Europe had lost its wings when Crane & Co’s correspondence paper with its matching
envelopes (the oldest 100% cotton matching set in the world) became the fashionable
way to stay in touch.
