Printing Suggestions
myTranslucent is sensitive to humidity and quickly equalises with room moisture, so keep it wrapped for 24 hours before printing. For multi-colour jobs, use a conditioned environment (23°C, 50% RH) to minimise size variation. The non-porous surface means inks dry by oxidation—use inks suitable for plastics, UV or Heat Set inks for best results. Control fountain solution carefully: pH 5–5.5, 800–1200 µS conductivity, minimum dosage and additives if needed to aid polymerisation. Use anti-setoff powder and low stacks; drying time varies from 8–24 hours.
For hot foil stamping, adjust temperature and pressure appropriately; use suitable foils and clichés for larger areas. When cutting, use sharp 23° blades, cut small stacks (max 5 cm) and avoid overly sharp die-cutting tools. Always fold parallel to the grain and avoid dry conditions, lighter weights require extra care.
For binding, hot melt or non-water-based cold glues are recommended, applied along the grain. Lighter weights may be less suitable for stitching.
