Printing Suggestions
For best results, offset printing with UV inks is recommended for myStardream. When using traditional offset, we advise specialised oxidising inks designed for plastic or non-absorbent substrates, which help inks dry quickly and evenly.
Careful control of press settings is essential, especially the dampening system. Maintain the buffer solution with a pH of 4.8–5.5 and conductivity between 800–1200 μS. Minimising dampening reduces the risk of ink emulsification and ensures sharper results and better drying.
For enhanced durability, an in-line UV matt varnish is recommended. Use low-output stacks and allow for an appropriate drying time, as this may vary depending on the ink coverage and press conditions.
Foil blocking is generally suitable for myStardream. However, some deep colours may interact with certain foils, leading to oxidation. To prevent this, we suggest:
Applying an acrylic or UV primer
Or using a double foil pass, adding a transparent film first
When glueing, polyurethane adhesives are preferred. myStardream performs well with all major finishing processes, including cutting, creasing, die cutting, folding, glueing and lamination. However, as with any premium material, we recommend testing first to ensure the best results.
For special processes or intricate finishes, sample sheets are available for print testing upon request.
