Printing Suggestions
The best printing technique applicable to myLeatherlike is offset with UV inks. The immediate cross linking
provided by the UV irradiation eliminates any form of set-off. It is highly recommended to stack the paper
low after printing (max 20/30 cm high) and to apply a small quantity of anti set-off powder.
myLeatherlike gives good printing results with traditional offset inks as well. It is advisable to:
- Use super-oxidizing inks, such as inks for plastic materials and other ink-proof surfaces. In this case it is recommended to add an oxidation catalyst in the recommended percentage.
- Replace the fountain water, rinse the system and add a PH stabilizer to obtain a solution with a PH of 5 +/- 0,2.
- Monitor the conductivity.
- The percentage of alcohol/surfactant has to be perfectly calibrated, according to the instructions of the printing machine manufacturer.
- Stack the product low at machine exit (maximum 8 cm).
For silk screen printing we recommend the use of UV inks or specific inks for plastic substrates.
Drying times may vary, depending on ink charges and compliance with process variables. Store in a dry environment, with constant humidity and close the packages carefully if the sheets contained in a package are used in part. It is recommended to fan the sheets to ensure separation on all four sides.
Good results are obtained with most important converting processes: cutting, creasing, die cutting, folding, gluing and lamination. For lamination it is advisable to perform tests before carrying out the process.
To guarantee optimal yield when utilising special processing and elaborate finishing, it is possible to request myLeatherlike samples to be used for printing tests.
