Premier Film Club – Rocketman Review

Boring’, ‘Shallow’, ‘Mundane’ are all words that we wouldn’t use to describe Rocketman, Dexter Fletchers incredible biopic about the turbulent life of one of Britain’s greatest performers!

Rocketman follows the life of Elton John, from his early days as something of a prodigy, through to his sensational career – the highs and the lows. His partnership with lyricist Bernie Taupin, his destruction and his redemption; a story about how Elton John is still standing and we love it!

Fletcher’s vision is matched perfectly by Taron Egerton’s flawless, award worthy performance as Elton John. Egerton is joined by Jamie Bell’s Taupin with whom he shares an incredible on-screen chemistry, Richard Madden as John Reid as well as Bryce Dallas Howard and Steven Mackintosh as Elton John’s parents.

This film is incredibly captivating from start to finish. The journey through Elton John’s life is an emotional one, shot with iconic set pieces and truly amazing music – this is a real contender for movie of the year and will undoubtedly collect lots of well deserved accolades and awards.

Our final thoughts – Wow! An outstanding and heartbreaking movie that will not disappoint!
