The Addams Family
The creepy, kooky and all together ooky family are back with bang in Greg Tiernan’s and Conrad Vernon’s animated re-launch of the Addams Family.
The new Addams Family film boast an incredible cast, the amazing Charlize Theron (Monster) as Morticia, Oscar Isaac (Star Wars: Force Awakens) as Gomez, Chloe Grace Moretz (Carrie) as Wednesday, Finn Wolfhard (Stranger Things) as Pugsley, Nick Kroll (Sausage Party) as Uncle Fester, Bette Midler (Hocus Pocus) as Grandma and none other the Snoop Dogg as the rather diminutive and impressively hairy Cousin It; and that isn’t even everyone, as we see the coming together of two great and somewhat creepy families to form the Addamses as we know and love.
The film opens with Morticia and Gomez’s wedding (ahhh) a toop a cliff on the outskirts of humanity only to be rudely interrupted by a baying mob with pitchforks and torches aflame. Shortly after this the newlywed couple, and the audience, are introduced to Lurch – funny and eerie!
The Addams family looks set not to replace its predecessors, lets face it you simply cant replace the late Raul Julia, Anjelica Huston and Christopher Lloyd performances, but rather introduce the Addamses to a new generation of film lovers. A worthwhile watch with the family this autumn for some Halloween laughs!
