June 2013 – Premier Paper in 3D

Premier Paper Group, the UK’s largest independent paper merchant, has added an extra dimension to its coated paper product range with the launch of 3D Gloss and Silk.

Manufactured by Moorim Paper and until recently sold by PaperlinX under the a-ok brand; FSC-certified 3D is now available exclusively in the UK from Premier Paper, in weights ranging from 100 up to 300gsm, in SRA2 and SRA1 sheet size and in both Gloss and Silk finishes.

3D coated paper has leading edge technical qualities. Its exceptional bulk, excellent rigidity, fast drying times, good paper gloss, ink gloss and whiteness; deliver superb print results; making it an ideal choice for applications including menus, brochures, magazines, catalogues and leaflets.

One of the biggest advantages of 3D is its bulk, a property that affords printers with the opportunity to optimise the yield advantage of lower weights. The bulk factor increases notably in the heavier weights and 3D 300gsm is significantly bulkier than many 350gsm papers on the market.

“3D is an extremely bulky sheet adding an extra dimension to print jobs, with outstanding on-press performance,” said Premier’s Group Marketing Director David Jones. “This bulk offers commercial printers and their customers a genuine cost saving opportunity – using a lower weight can result in potential savings of up to 15% on paper costs as well as lower postage costs, with no impact on the look and feel of the finished printed item.”

Stocked in-depth across a focused range of popular sizes and weights 3D is available for next-day delivery from any of Premier’s 16 branches. “Our stock range reflects the needs of our commercial print customers and substantial amounts of 3D are held in our local branch network, as close as possible to our customers,” said Jones.

In addition, Premier customers purchasing 3D, also have the opportunity to capture the CO2 emissions from the manufacture and distribution of their paper purchase and to invest in Premier’s UK-based Carbon Capture project in association with the Woodland Trust.
